There are wide varieties of beds like platform beds, loft beds and storage beds etc. Such names exhibit the features associated with those particular beds. For instance, Storage beds are those which contain drawers for the storage purpose. Likewise, platform bed is that one which has four posts and a canopy over it. Beds for storage are more commonly used by the people as compared to the platform beds because they give smart look and occupy less space where as the platform wooden beds give a huge and wide look. The term captain’s bed is also given to the beds used for the storage purpose, because these beds were chiefly designed to be used in the ship for officers and captain. As ships always have scarce space in it and have to go through long journeys for months or even years.
